From I95, North or South, you can take either Exit 73 (Society Road) or Exit 74 (Route 161). The House is approximately one mile from each exit.

If you take Exit 73, go south on Society Road, then follow it as it turns to the east at the intersection with Riverview Road, in front of the Old Stone Church Burialground.

If you take Exit 74, go south on Route 161. Turn left at intersection with Society Road.

The Smith-Harris House is located on the north side of Society Road, between the Lillie B. Haynes School and the East Lyme Community Center.

The Smith-Harris House is located at 33 Society Road in the Niantic section of East Lyme.

The House is open for tours during the months of June, July and August, Friday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., or by appointment. (We are closed for the July 4th holiday.) Admission is free, but donations are always welcomed and appreciated.

In addition to the House, the property includes lovely gardens and a nature walk, and we encourage you to visit even when the museum is not open.

The grounds and the barn are an ideal place to have a special gathering or fundraising event. The barn can be rented for $25.00 per hour, with a four hour minimum.
